Jayke Joson, Manny Pacquiao’s business agent and former special assistant, has spoken out about the issue that the senator and presidential contender ran away with the ₱100 million from Paradigm Sports.
Prior to the Paradigm Sports controversy, Joson stated that his previous plan with Pacquiao was to find a boxing match so that they could help more Filipinos.
“‘Jake, maghanap kayo ng laban na puwede na akong magretiro at the same time, mas maraming Pilipino tayong matulungan.’
“‘Jake, look for a fight that I can retire and at the same time, we’re going to have more Filipinos to help.’ I don’t want Mr. Arnold Vegafria, me, Mr. Ping Nepomuceno. “We’ve fixed that for Paradigm Sports, that’s the fight between Manny Pacquiao and Mcgregor,”
Joson said in an interview with SMNI News released on Monday, October 18.
After Pacquiao’s signing, Joson revealed that Pacquiao asked to get cash advances in Paradigm, which the company did not allow.
“We talked to Paradigm well to grant our dear senator,”
said Joson.
“What we do know is that he’s going to help–whatever the money we’re going to release, he’s going to help the person,”
he added.
Paradigm Sports donated 2 million dollars for the senator as a cash advance.
However, the boxer has not yet been satisfied with the acquisition.
“He is not satisfied yet. He even told us to increase it, make it 4 million dollars, ”
said the former special assistant.
Paradigm declined to grant Pacquiao’s request because it was too much.
Hindi na po pumayag, sabi nila, ‘That’s too much already,’
“Arnold and I, on the other hand, tried Paradigm to ask for another 2 million dollars. They refused, they said, ‘That’s too much already,’
he added.
When Paradigm refused Pacquiao’s request for an additional $2 million, Joson and Vegafria assumed they would be the only ones to find a way to grant Pacquiao’s request.
Joson and Vegafria contributed 65 million pesos to Pacquiao’s cause.
“We’ve raised our own money of 65 million. So he got P165 million from us. 65 with both of us Arnold-personal. We’ve got a couple of lean just to give and help Senator Pacquiao and then 100 in Paradigm,”
When Pacquiao got the money, they ran out of money and didn’t follow the contract.
“When we gave the money, we took a mortgage, he got the money from Paradigm, he ran away from us,”
Joson said.
“He did not follow the contract, he did not follow what we talked about. “It’s as if our friendship has lasted so long, that our only interest is for his good,”
he added.
“I love Sen. MP, but how can you love the wrong thing that was done to us, ”
he explained.
Joson also seems to have expressed his resentment towards his friend.
“It’s tearful but I can’t swallow as if he has the right to do that to us because he’s Manny Pacquiao? And we’re only just Jayke Joson, Arnold Vegafria? Anything he could do to us?”
Joson added.
According to Joson, they gave the senator a chance to correct his mistake, however, until now Pacquiao has not settled with them.
“If Sen.MP knows that he made a mistake, he must correct it. If his heart is pure, and he really wants the organization to be good. Until now, it seems like It’s forgotten, ”
Joson explained.
“It seems like he’s entitled to do that to us? as if he had the right to do that to us? not because he’s Manny Pacquiao and we’re just only Jayke Joson, Arnold Vegafria lang. And we should just swallow what he did even if it wasn’t right? ”
he added.
“So it’s up to you to judge if I should stay or if I should disappear,”
Joson continued.
Until now, Joson and Vegafria have been waiting for Pacquiao’s response.
It will be recalled that Pacquiao’s sports manager, Audie Attar, filed a lawsuit against the senator in June of this year, seeking the return of the senator’s “$3.3 million advance.”
Audie Attar created Paradigm Sports Management in 2009 as a sports management firm. This business is located in Orange County, California. It was also in charge of former UFC champion Conor McGregor’s career.
