Job Qualifications

Here are the following qualifications for the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) from Non-Officers to Officers:

PCG Non-Officers Qualifications

  • Natural-born Filipino Citizen
  • Good moral character
  • Single
  • At least eighteen (18) but not more than twenty-eight (28) years of age at the date of appointment in PCG Service.
  • At least 5’0″ (152.4cm) in height for both male and female; Physically and mentally fit;
  • Baccalaureate Degree Holder or has earned at least
  • seventy-two (72) units in college in only one (1) course as reflected in Transcript of Records (TOR);
  • With Sub-Professional Civil Eligibility or higher, or with TESDA National Certificate (NCII), as identified, priority skills and competency are required.

General Line Officers Qualifications

  • Natural-born Filipino Citizen
  • Good moral character
  • Single
  • At least twenty-one (21) but not more than twenty-eight (28) years of age at the date of appointment in the PCG service;
  • At least 5’0″ (152.4cm) in height for both male and female; Physically and mentally fit;
  • Baccalaureate Degree holder;
  • With Professional Civil Service Eligibility of at least 80% rating or PRC License for Deck and Engineering Officers, Pilot License issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), or equivalent.

Technical Line Officers Qualifications

For (Lawyers, Medical Doctors, Psychiatrists, Dentists, Veterinarians, and Chaplain):

  • Natural-born Filipino Citizen 
  • Good moral character
  • Single or Married
  • At least twenty-six(26) but not more than thirty-six (36) years of age upon appointment;
  • At least 5’0″ (152.4cm) in height for both male and female;
  • Physically and mentally fit;
  • Bar or Board Passer in their respective fields of profession.

Technical Line Officers Qualifications

For (Nurses, Nutritionists, Psychologists, Radiologists, Psychometrician or other technical professionals of the same level):

  • Natural-born Filipino Citizen
  • Good moral character
  • Single
  • At least twenty-one (21) but not more than twenty-eight (28) years of age upon appointment;
  • At least 5’0″(152.4cm) in height for both male or female;
  • Physically and mentally fit;
  • Board Passers in their respective fields of profession.

Job Applications Requirements

Here are the following requirements for the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) from Non-Officers to Commissionships applicants:

FOR PCG Non-Officers Applicants

  • PSA Birth Certificate
  • NBI Clearance
  • Certificate of No Marriage (CENOMAR) 
  • College Diploma (if any)
  • Transcript of Records
  • Certificate of Eligibility/License/TESDA NCII Certificate.
  • 4R Colored Full Body Picture 
  • White Long Folder

For Commissionships Applicants

  • PSA Birth Certificate
  • NBI Clearance
  • Certificate of No Marriage (CENOMAR) 
  • College Diploma
  • Transcript of Records
  • Certificate of Eligibility/License. 
  • 4R Colored Full Body Picture 
  • White Long Folder

You cannot apply for the PCG service if you are:

  • With any physical deformity
  • Serving as Officers, Enlisted Personnel, officials, or employees in any other capacity in the government or Armed Forces of any country.
  • Convicted for offenses involving moral turpitude in military or civil courts or any of the crimes against national security and laws of nations, crimes against the fundamental laws of the state, crimes against public order, or crimes against public morals.
  • With Pending Criminal, Civil or Administrative Case
  • A deserter or a felony
  • Separated from the government or civilian service under the following conditions:
    • Dishonorably separated from the service
    • As a result of a court-martial
    • As a result of administrative proceedings
    • For unsatisfactory service
    • Under any condition other than honorable
  • Not recommended by the PCG Officers Admission Board (for Officers Applicants).
  • Not recommended by the District/ Unit Non-Officers Admission Board (for Non-Officers Applicants).
