PCG Qualifications

Here are the following qualifications for the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) from Non-Officer to Officer:

PCG Non-Officer Qualifications

• Natural-born Filipino Citizen
• Good moral character
• Single
• At least eighteen (18) but not more than twenty-eight (28) years of age at the date of appointment in PCG Service.
• At least 5’0″ (152.4cm) in height for both male and female;
• Physically and mentally fit;
• Baccalaureate Degree Holder or has earned at least seventy-two (72) units in college in only one (1) course as reflected in Transcript of Records (TOR);
• With Sub-Professional Civil Eligibility or higher, or with TESDA National Certificate (NCII), as identified, priority skills and competency are required.

General Line Officer Qualifications

• Natural-born Filipino Citizen
• Good moral character
• Single
• At least twenty-one (21) but not more than twenty-eight (28) years of age at the date of appointment in the PCG service;
• At least 5’0″ (152.4cm) in height for both male and female;
• Physically and mentally fit;
• Baccalaureate Degree holder;
• With Professional Civil Service Eligibility of at least 80% rating or PRC License for Deck and Engineering Officers, Pilot License issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), or equivalent.

Technical Line Officer Qualifications

For (Lawyers, Medical Doctors, Psychiatrists, Dentists, Veterinarians, and Chaplain):

• Natural-born Filipino Citizen 
• Good moral character
• Single or Married
• At least twenty-six(26) but not more than thirty-six (36) years of age upon appointment;
• At least 5’0″ (152.4cm) in height for both male and female;
• Physically and mentally fit;
• Bar or Board Passer in their respective fields of profession.

Technical Line Officer Qualifications

For (Nurses, Nutritionists, Psychologists, Radiologists, Psychometrician or other technical professionals of the same level):

• Natural-born Filipino Citizen
• Good moral character
• Single
• At least twenty-one (21) but not more than twenty-eight (28) years of age upon appointment;
• At least 5’0″(152.4cm) in height for both male or female;
• Physically and mentally fit;
• Board Passers in their respective fields of profession.

PCG Disqualifications

You cannot apply for the PCG service if you are:

• Physically deformed
• Working as an officer, enlisted personnel, official, or employee in the government or military of any other country
• Convicted of crimes involving dishonesty or serious offenses in military or civil courts, or crimes against national security, public order, or public morals
• Facing any criminal, civil, or administrative case
• A deserter (someone who left service without permission) or a convicted criminal
• Dismissed from government or civilian service for any of these reasons:
  • Dishonorably discharged
  • Court-martialed (military trial)
  • Fired due to administrative actions
  • Poor performance or service
  • Any other reason that is not honorable
• Not recommended by the PCG Officers Admission Board (for Officer Applicants).
• Not recommended by the District/ Unit Non-Officers Admission Board (for Non-Officer Applicants).

• Step 1: Access the online application link in the button below:

• Step 2: Select the “Register” option. For laptop users, click on the Register Menu at the top of your display. For phone users, tap on the three lines at the top of your screen.

• Step 3: Provide the required personal information and use ‘N/A‘ if a field is not applicable.

• Step 8: An email notification will be sent to your registered email address with login credentials, instructions on how to upload initial requirements, and further instructions for initial screening/document verification.

• Step 9: Click the “Click here to Login” button to be directed to the applicant dashboard, where you can upload your initial requirements.

• Step 10: On the applicant dashboard, you can view your account profile and application status and access the section to upload your initial requirements. At the bottom, please refer to the provided instructions and ensure that the documents are correct before clicking the “Submit” button.
