- Job Description:

- A diagnostic medical sonographer, also known simply as a sonographer, uses imaging equipment and soundwaves to form images of many parts of the body, known as ultrasounds.
- They are trained to acquire and analyze these sonographic images. These images are used to help doctors diagnose and treat many medical conditions.
- Operating imaging equipment, and reviewing images to be sure they are of good quality and helpful for diagnosis.
- Identifying normal and abnormal imaging results, communicating a summary of the results to physicians or other health professionals, and alerting physicians to urgent problems
- Preparing patients for procedures and educating patients throughout the ultrasound exam
- Reviewing patient medical history, recording imaging results in patient records, and coordinating care with various departments within the hospital or clinic.
- Conduct phone meetings with physicians throughout the medical office to answer questions or attain detailed relating to ordered sonographic images.
- Prepare ultrasound equipment and exam room ensuring proper sterilization and safety procedures are followed.
- Review the patient’s medical chart prior to their appointment and have a clear understanding of the images required.
- Use positioning tools and safety equipment properly to ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging.
- Attend continuing education courses and work to advance personal knowledge and experience within the field.
- Use ethical judgment and critical thinking skills to perform diagnostic imaging safely.
- Review images before sending to the physician to ensure a clear image of the area requested.

- Job Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years(s) of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be Bachelor’s Degree / College Degree holders in Other or similar fields.
- Candidates should have experience in a hospital.
