About PAGASA

PAGASA, which stands for the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration, is the national meteorological and hydrological agency of the Philippines.

Established in 1972, PAGASA is responsible for providing weather forecasts, warnings, and advisories to the public, as well as conducting research and monitoring activities related to meteorology, hydrology, climatology, and astronomy.

To apply for a promotion on a non-entry position, the candidates should submit his/her most recent IPCR. A 90 day period is required to be considered/given performance rating for the semi-annual rating period which covers from January-June and July-December. If the ratee does not have a 90 day period for the said cut off then, he/she has to wait for the next rating period to be assessed and rated in his/her performance.

(Example: Juan Dela Cruz is promoted for Weather Observer I last April 15, 2021. To apply for promotion, he should submit his Jul-Dec 2021 IPCR.

Applicants for promotion to an entry level positions (WOA, WOBI, WFTI , WSPI , WFSI) IPCR is not required hence, he/she can submit his application without submitting the IPCR.
PAGASA employees applying for vacant positions in other divisions should have their application sent/noted by their current Division Chief through email before submission to HRMDS. Employees applying for vacancies in their current division should furnish a copy of their application to their Division Chief;
Subject of your email should be < Position Title>, < Division/Place of Assignment Office> (Example: Weather Observer l, VPRSD/Bohol Radar );
Application letter must include/specify the item number/s, position title/s applied for, and the Division where the vacancy belongs;
