Here’s a simple 10-step guide on how to apply for the vacant positions at DBM:

Step 1: Decide the positions you will apply for

  • You may apply for up to three positions within the same posting period.
  • You may be referred to other offices based on organizational needs and your qualifications.
  • Before choosing, review the Functional Statements of DBM bureaus, services, and offices: DBM website → “ABOUT THE DBM” → “Functional Statements”.

Step 2: Write and sign your Application Letter

Address the letter to:

Your letter must clearly state:

  • Position title you are applying for
  • Salary grade
  • Plantilla item number
  • Name of the bureau/service/office where the vacancy is

Step 3: Fill out the Personal Data Sheet (PDS), CS Form No. 212, Revised 2025

  • Use the Revised 2025 form.
  • Attach a recent ID photo taken within the last 3 months.
  • Subscribe and swear the PDS before an authorized administering officer.
  • The date of accomplishment and notarization must be within the application period.
  • Sign each page, and ensure the administering officer signs page 4.

Important accuracy reminder (per CSC MC No. 11, s. 2017):

  • Any inaccurate or missing information that affects your qualification (e.g., Educational Background, Civil Service Eligibility, Work Experience, Learning and Development), or missing signatures, is grounds for exclusion.

Step 4: Prepare and sign the Work Experience Sheet (WES)

  • Submit a signed WES as an attachment to the PDS.
  • The date on the WES must be the same as the date on the PDS.

Step 5: Gather supporting documents (for all applicants, as applicable)

  1. Photocopy of Diploma and Transcript of Records.
  2. Photocopy of Certificates of Training/Seminars attended.
  3. Photocopy of Certificate of Employment with actual duties and responsibilities.
    • For internal applicants, also provide a certificate from a previous employer/government agency.
  4. Photocopy of Report of Rating / License / Certificate of Admission to the Bar / Certificate of Eligibility / Eligibility Card, or a site/screen capture of eligibility from:
    • Civil Service Eligibility Verification System
    • PRC Licensure Examination and Registration Information System (LERIS)
    • Supreme Court Lawyer’s List
  5. Photocopy of CHED Certification if:
    • A one-year diploma post-graduate course is being credited as equivalent to a master’s degree, or
    • A foreign degree is being credited as equivalent to a bachelor’s or master’s degree.
  6. Photocopy of Individual Performance Accomplishment Report or its equivalent for the last rating period (if applicable).

Step 6: For internal applicants

  • If the HRMD does not already have your documents on file, include the items in Steps 3 to 5 together with your application.

Step 7: Complete the DBM Online Recruitment Form

  • Upload the same set of documents you will submit in hard copy.

Step 8: Prepare hard copies

  • Print and compile hard copies of your application identical to what you uploaded online.

Step 9: Submit hard copies and send your application

Step 10: Wait for DBM’s notice

  • Only applicants who complete the Online Recruitment Form, submit the hard copies, and meet all qualification standards will be contacted.
