The central Police University (CPU), Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of China (Taiwan), is offering undergraduate scholarship program for PCG. The cadet training course provided by the Department of Maritime Police (DMP, de facto Coast Guard) CPU, will include the academic programs and law enforcement coaching sessions concerning coast guard missions. The course aims to build professional skills and academic knowledge and networking among the officials of government law enforcement agencies in Taiwan.
The program also consists of formal classroom training in subjects such as:
A. Oceanography
B. Nautical Meteorology
C. Marine Physics
D. Marine Environmental Science
E. Ocean Observation and Research
F. United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS)
G. International Law
H. Navigation (Celestial navigation, geo navigation, regulations for preventing collisions at sea, navigation equipment)
I. Engineering (Auxiliary Engine and Main Engine, generator)
J. Marine Environmental Protection/Oil Spilling Handling knowledge
k.Criminal Law, Code of Criminal Procedure, Forensic Science
l. Radar Communication (Marine Communication and Marine English)
An integral part of the cadet training program is a rigorous physical education and physical fitness program which demands that candidates arrive in good physical condition for training at sea and perform calisthenics(i.e., martial arts, use of force, shooting)
Qualifications:
Interested applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Natural born Filipino Citizen;
- Must be seventeen (17) to twenty-two (22) years old;
- Must be at least 5.2 feet in height for male and be atleast 5.0. feet in height for female;
- Must be medically and physically fit for swimming/scuba diving;
- Must pass the PCG Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and Swimming Qualification Test (SQT); (CPU provides intensive swimming training and daily morning swimming exercise);
- Must be at least High School Graduate;
- Single and with no legal dependents;
- Must have no derogatory records or legal impediments;
- Must have satisfactory command of English Language and communication skills; 1
- Must be willing to undergo a 3-6-month Mandarin Language Course (Online or taught in person);
Benefits and Service Obligation:
Upon completion of the 4-year cadet training program, PCG Cadet will be commissioned as an active PCG Officer with the rank of ENSIGN and will render a minimum of eight (8) years service obligation to the PCG.

- Colored Whole-Body Picture (white background) wearing white-tshirt and Maong pants.
- Essay stating reasons for joining the program and how do you think your 4-year experience in Central Police University can help the PCG and your expectation on coast guard career.
Process:
- Submission of Application Requirements
- If qualified, applicants will be informed thru call/text informing that they will undergo and must pass the PFT/SQT (facilitated by PCG Districts SSO if outside metro manila)
- If applicants met the required score of the for PFT and SQT, they will be informed and will be interviewed by the PCG and TECO/Taiwan Embassy via online app. 4
- Deliberation of the PCG Education and Training Board (PCGETB) for qualified nominees.
- Once the PCGETB selected nominees, same will be forwarded to CPCG for approval
- Approved nominees will be submitted to the Embassy
- Embassy will evaluate the submitted PCG nominees and will evaluate (2-4) scholars
