Scholarship Benefits
MEXT Scholarship 2022 is a Fully Funded Scholarship for International Students to Study in Japan For Free. This scholarship will provide the recipient with the following benefits:
- Allowances: Monthly Stipend Allowance, Preparatory Allowance (2021 Rate)
- Education Fees: Fees for the Entrance Examination, Tuition Fee at Universities will be paid by MEXT.
- Traveling Expenses: Transportation to Japan: MEXT will cover your Round Airfare Travel Expenses from your Country to Japan. The Airline ticket will be an Economy-class ticket for the flight.
- Accommodations: Residence halls for international students provided by universities.

Teacher Training Scholarship
This scholarship offers applicants the opportunity to spend one and a half year conducting research on school education at one of several Japanese universities.

Qualifications | 1. Filipino citizen 2. Born on or after April 2, 1987 3. At least (5) five years of teaching experience in primary or secondary schools as of October 1, 2022 4. Currently employed as a teacher in an elementary or secondary school 5. Interested in and willing to learn about Japanese culture |

Due to COVID-19 and other factors, it may not be possible to conduct the recruitment and selection according to the originally announced schedule. Suspension or cancellation may also be possible depending on the circumstances.
NOTE: The screening committee takes into consideration your ability to follow the guidelines and instructions. Please follow the instructions carefully.
1. As stated in the guidelines, all scholars must return to their home countries after the completion of the program to work as a teacher at the elementary or high school level. Scholars who do not adhere to this rule will be required to pay back the full amount of the scholarship. Please bear this in mind when you submit your application. 2. All submitted documents WILL NOT BE RETURNED. 3. Only originals or certified true copies of the Academic Transcript of Records and Certificates of graduation of school/university may be submitted. Notarized documents will also be accepted. Please ensure that information on certified documents can be clearly read. Furthermore, if the document is originally written in a language other than English or Japanese, please provide a translation from the school/university. 4. MEDICAL CERTIFICATE ON PRESCRIBED FORM – Medical check-up may be undertaken in ANY hospital or health institution, as long as the form is in conformity with what is shown in the guidelines. Please ask the doctor to fill in all the required data. As much as possible, please ask the physician to sign the form with their wet signature. If the hospital or health institution cannot provide a physically-signed form, the digital or scanned copy must be notarized or certified. 5. RECOMMENDATION LETTER: Physically-signed letters are most appreciated. If it is not possible for the recommender to physically sign the letter, the applicant may submit a notarized copy of the recommendation letter with an e-signature. 6. Please follow the number of copies for each document stated in the guidelines. For example, if the list asks for 1 original and 1 copy and the applicant is unable to give the original, 2 copies must be submitted. 7. Due to the huge volume of applications received every year, we are unable to confirm receipt of documents from each applicant. Please check with your courier service provider on how you can verify delivery/receipt of your documents. Inquiries on application status will not be entertained. 8. Only short listed candidates will be contacted to take the exams and interview at a location designated by the Embassy. It is the candidate’s responsibility to secure the cost and means to take the written test and interview. Candidates for the written test must take precautions against infection by COVID-19 and follow the instructions of the test proctor. 9. Place all your documents in a single envelope or folder arranged according to the list. Number the documents (1 through 8) in the right upper corner according to their number on the list. 10. Please mail your application package to the following address on or before the indicated deadline date below. Late applications WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Japanese Studies
This scholarship offers applicants the opportunity to spend a year continuing their study of Japanese language or culture at one of several universities in Japan.

Qualifications | 1. Filipino citizen 2. Applicants must be born between April 2, 1992 and April 1, 2004 3. Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student and majoring in fields related to Japanese language and/or Japanese culture. 4. Applicants must have studied Japanese Studies at a university for a total period of one year or more as of September 1, 2022. |
