Philippine Army to recruit 1,050 Officers

The Philippine Army (PA) has begun the recruitment of 1,050 new officers for its 2nd Cycle Officer Recruitment last October 20, 2021.

The 1,050 quota is part of the 2,109 total quotas for Army officer recruitment this year. The PA has allocated 400 quotas for Officer Candidate Course (OCC); 400 for Officer Preparatory Course (OPC) Class 73 and 74; 100 for OCC -Reserve Officer Training (OCC-ROTC); 100 for Call to Active-Duty Tour for Training (CADTT); and 50 for Direct Commission.

Said recruitment aims to continuously build up a force to advance the organization’s operational gains and finally end the insurgency in the country.

Officer Candidate Course Basic Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate Degree Holder;
  • Natural-born Filipino citizen;
  • At least 20 years old but not a day older than 25 years old on the date of admission
  • With height of at least 5’0 ft (152.4cm) both for male and female but not more than 6’4” (193.04cm) except those applicants who belong to the Indigenous Peoples (IPs).
  • Single and never been married, never borne or sired a child;
  • Of good moral character;
  • Must have passed the AFP Service Aptitude Test (AFPSAT) with either Category A or B result;
  • Must have passed the Army Qualifying Examination (AQE) and Special Written Examination (SWE);
  • Must have passed the Physical and Medical Examinations (PME) conducted at PAMU’s Military Treatment Facilities (MTF), Army
    General Hospital (AGH), and other Military Station Hospitals. He/she shall be given a Medical Certificate certified by the Army Chief Surgeon with physical profile, P1 result and fit to undergo military
    training;
  • Must have passed the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) which shall be conducted by PAMU’s Division Service Support Office (DSSO) and
    Special Service Center (SSC) and its equivalent to other PAMUs;
  • Must have passed the Background Investigation;
  • Must have no criminal, administrative, court martial and/or civil case pending in any court of justice of the Philippines, either as a litigant or witness.
  • Must be selected and recommended by the PA Major Unit Officer Selection Committee (PAMUOSC) / PA Officer Selection Committee (PAOSC) to the PA Officer Admission Board (PAOAB) for interview and deliberation; and
  • Must be selected and recommended by the PAOAB for appointment as P2LT to undergo OCC.

  • Original College Diploma;
  • Original Transcript of Records (TOR) duly signed by the school registrar;
  • Professional Regulation (PRC) license/Civil Service Commission (CSC) eligibility (if any);
  • Clearances:
  • For Civilians – Barangay, Mayor, Police, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Municipal or Regional Trial Court (MTC/RTC); and
  • For Enlisted Personnel – Discipline Law and Order (DLO), NBI and G2, PA.
  • Drug and Hepa B Test results from PA accredited testing centers;
  • Enlistment / Reenlistment Order (for EP);
  • Recommendation from Unit Commander (for EP);
  • Latest Ssummary of Information (SOI) (for EP);
  • Certificate of Non-Marriage;
  • Affidavit of Undertaking entailing that he she has never borne, sire, or supported a child;
  • Affidavit of Undertaking regarding Engagement to Serve and Assumption of Liability; (See Annex B)

  • Any valid ID.

Officer Candidate Course – Reserve Officer Training Course (MAAP, PMMA, POTC) Basic Qualifications

  • Natural-born Filipino citizen;
  • At least 20 years old but not a day older than 26 years old reckoned on the date of graduation at the OCS, TRADOC, PA;
  • With height of at least 5’0 ft (152.4cm) both for male and female but not more than 6’4” (193.04cm) except those applicants who belong to the Indigenous Peoples (IPs). IP applicants shall submit a certificate from the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) that he/she is a bonafide member of an IP tribe;
  • Single and never been married, never borne or sired a child;
  • Of good moral character;
  • Must have passed the AFP Service Aptitude Test (AFPSAT) with either Category A or B result;
  • Must have passed the Army Qualifying Examination (AQE) and Special Written Examination (SWE);

Direct Commission Program Basic Qualifications

  • Must be holding a status as Inactive Commissioned Reserve Officer with a rank of Second Lieutenant (2LT);
  • Natural-born Filipino citizen;
  • At least 20 years old but not a day older than 26 years old reckoned on the date of graduation at the OCS, TRADOC, PA;
  • With height of at least 5’0 ft (152.4cm) both for male and female but not more than 6’4” (193.04cm) except those applicants who belong to the Indigenous Peoples (IPs). IP applicants shall submit a certificate

Officer Preparatory Course Basic Qualifications

  • Must be holding a status as Inactive Commissioned Reserve Officer with a rank of 2LT;
  • Natural-born Filipino citizen;
  • At least 20 to 40 years old; (From Civilian, at least 21 years old but not a day older than 30 years old from the date of admission. From the ranks/Enlisted Personnel, at least 21 years old but not a day older than 35 years old)
  • With height of at least 5’0 ft (152.4cm) both for male and female but not more than 6’4” (193.04cm) except those applicants who belong to the Indigenous Peoples (IPs). IP applicants shall submit a certificate from the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) that he/she is a bonafide member of an IP tribe;
  • Of good moral character;
  • Must have passed the Physical and Medical Examinations (PME) conducted at PAMU’s Military Treatment Facilities (MTF), Army General Hospital (AGH), and other Military Station Hospitals.   • With height of at least 5’0 ft (152.4cm) both for male and female but not more than 6’4” (193.04cm) except those applicants who belong to the Indigenous Peoples (IPs). IP applicants shall submit a certificate from the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) that he/she is a bonafide member of an IP tribe;
  • Of good moral character;
