Job Description
As a MIG Welder, you will use special equipment to weld and join metal parts. Your skills will be necessary for building or fixing things made of metal.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of Standard 1554.3:2014 Welding of Reinforcing Steel (If you require references, a copy is in the warehouse office and warehouse kitchen)
- Daily Prestart checklist for all workstations. This includes MEP Gam cage machine, welders,
- Read schedules/drawings and job cards or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.
- Quality check while doing work, quantity, and measurements.
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on the requirements of the schedule/works.
- Set up components for welding according to specifications per schedule (e.g. Using jigs at both manual and cage machine to match measurements)
- Operate angle grinders, drop saws, and bench grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
- Align components using calipers, tape measure, clamp pieces, etc.
- Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment for companies WPS (Welding Specification Specification)
- Repair machinery and other components
- Visually inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws.
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
Qualifications of MIG Welder Job Vacancies
