The Office for Alternative Dispute Resolution (OADR) is an attached agency of the Department of Justice created pursuant to Republic Act (R.A.) No. 9285 or the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Act of 2004.

It is mandated to promote, develop and expand the use of ADR in the private and public sectors; assist the government in monitoring, studying and evaluating the use of ADR by the public and private sectors; and recommend to Congress needful statutory changes to develop, strengthen and improve ADR practices in accordance with world standards.

An online written exam will be administered to the applicants who will pass the initial screening. The coverage of the exam is as follows:

  1. Republic Act No. 9285 and its Implementing Rules and Regulations, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms particularly arbitration and mediation, Republic Act No. 876, 1985 UNCITRAL Model Law, New York Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards, Executive Order No. 97 s. 2012, Executive Order No. 78, s. 2012, Supreme Court Special ADR Rules, ADR in the Katarungang Pambarangay, and DOJ Circular No. 49, s. 2012; and
  2. Drafting of communications/correspondence and technical writing.
