The Embassy of the United States of America to the Philippines is the diplomatic mission of the United States in the Philippines. is situated in the Chancery Building of the Manila American Embassy along Roxas Boulevard (formerly Dewey Boulevard) in Ermita, Manila. The Embassy has been representing the United States Government since the Philippines was granted independence on July 4, 1946. The Manila mission is one of the US Department of State’s largest posts, employing close to 300 Americans and 1,000 Foreign Service national employees. The mission also hosts the only foreign office of the Department of Veterans Affairs, which caters to some 18,000 American and Filipino veterans and their widows in the Philippines

Manila’s Regional Printing Center provides printing and distribution services for overseas and domestic publications. Smaller branches exist in Vienna, Austria and Washington, D.C. but Manila is the flagship facility.

The mission of the U.S. Embassy is to advance the interests of the United States, and to serve and protect U.S. citizens in the Philippines.

Interestingly, The U.S. Embassy in the Philippines is looking for applicants for the following vacancies until October 17, 2022:

One (1) Warehouse Supervisor (Php 516,365 Yearly Salary)

  • EXPERIENCE: Three years’ work experience in warehousing and logistical support services to include one (1) year supervisory experience is required.
  • EDUCATION: Completion of at least two years of college is required. (Submit a copy of Transcript of Records and/or Diploma).
  • SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to multitask. Must use good judgement and work independently. Computer competencies including basic skills in MS office applications, and related software as required, and basic math skills. Must have a valid, valid/current host country driver’s license (category 2), for a minimum of five years. Must be able to lift a maximum of 51 lbs. (23kg) is required. This may be tested.
  • DUTIES: Incumbent directs, manages, and supports the warehousing operations that consists of over $22 million in assets and directly supervises five employees. Provides oversight, best usage and protection against waste, fraud and abuse in the storage, issuance replenishment, refurbishment, and disposal of assets for all agencies subscribing to (The International Cooperative Administrative Support Services) ICASS warehousing services. Assist in all VIP and events that will require luggage supports and manpower.

One (1) Supply Clerk (Php 418,232 Yearly Salary)

  • EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of experience in property and disposal management is required
  • EDUCATION: Completion of at least two years of college is required. (Submit a copy of Transcript of Records and/or Diploma).
  • SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must possess supervisory, planning and organization skills. Must have basic analytical and computer skills. Must be able to creatively co-mingle items to generate the most bidder interest and highest proceeds potential. Must understand bidding and disposal practices and have the ability to detect questionable bidding practices. Must have a valid/current host country driver’s license (category 2) to operate forklift and SUV. This may be tested.
  • DUTIES: The job holder is responsible for the receipt, accountability, storage and disposal of all U.S. Government properties for State and 24 agencies under the International Cooperative Administrative Support Services (ICASS). Supervises two Property & Supply local staff. Directs all phases of each disposal sale with yearly proceeds of sales averaging $70,000.00. Documents all disposal property and prepares all Property Survey Reports. Manages TAG disposal records. Convenes Property Survey Board meetings when required.

One (1) Registered Nurse (Php 833,292 Yearly Salary)

  • EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of post-qualification work as a professional nurse is required.
  • EDUCATION: Degree (RN Level) in Nursing or Diploma/Certificate equivalent from an accredited School of Nursing.  Must possess and maintain a valid nursing license or a current unrestricted Registered Nursing license from the host nation, country of origin, or the U.S.
  • SKILLS AND ABILITIES: The position requires strong interpersonal skills and a client-oriented disposition capable of dealing with a complexity interactive challenges in difficult and emotional situations.  Must be able to perform basic word processing on computer (This may be tested). 
  • DUTIES: The incumbent serves as the post’s nurse with responsibilities that include the medical care of Mission employees and eligible family members under MED approved clinical guidelines, as well as maintenance and inventory of all medical equipment and supplies, implementation of a robust vaccination program, administration of group and individual health education programs, and medical emergency contingency planning for the Mission.  The incumbent will work in the Medical Unit under the direct supervision of the Regional Medical Officer (RMO) or Medical Provider (MP).

One (1) Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Mechanic (Php 376,255 Yearly Salary)

  • EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of journeyman experience as a refrigeration and air-conditioning mechanic is required.   
  • EDUCATION: Completion of secondary school with training in Refrigeration and Air-condition trade is required. (Submit a copy of Transcript of Records and/or Diploma including Training certificates).
  • SKILLS AND ABILITIESMust be knowledgeable in all tools of trade and understand safe working practices when handling refrigeration or air-conditioning  materials. This may be tested.
  • DUTIES: Job holder serves as the Refrigeration and Air-conditioning mechanic who examines equipment or makes diagnostic tests to determine nature and extent of work necessary involving installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of electrically powered ref and ale equipment and systems in all short-term leased and U.S. Government owned houses. Job holder assembles/disassembles equipment, repair/replace defective malfunctioning motors, compressors, colling units, condensers, valves, relays, switches, pipes, and other controls. Works directly under Refrigeration and A/C Mechanic Foreman.

One (1) Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Mechanic (HVAC Mechanic Foreman) (Php 418,232 Yearly Salary)

  • EXPERIENCE: Three years’ experience in the repair and maintenance of commercial or industrial HVAC and Refrigeration systems is required. One year supervisory experience is required              
  • EDUCATION: Completion of secondary school is required to include a vocational training from an accredited institute recognized as producing journeyman level technicians with specialization in HVAC and Refrigeration field is required. (Submit a copy of Diploma and/or TOR/Form-137 including vocational training certificates).
  • JOB KNOWLEDGEThe incumbent must have a good working knowledge on Refrigeration air-conditioning control devices. Must possess job knowledge to include general computer literacy. Thorough knowledge is required on air-conditioning control systems, including the aptitude to interpret technologies introduced in his field of operations. This may be tested.
  • DUTIES: Directly responsible in the operations, maintenance, and repair of all Refrigeration and Air Conditioning units allocated within U.S. Government-Owned and short term leased properties. Carries out the supervision of maintenance and repair work to all mission residential owned properties. Work assignments includes repair of Variable Air Volume (VAV) units, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) ductwork, evaporators, condensers, dehumidifiers, motorized valves, chillers, pumps, Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV) type split Air-Conditioning, Fan coil units, Air Handling units and HVAC control devices.

Agency Benefits

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in U.S. Embassy Manila may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits. For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office. The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
