In 1983 the operation of the hospital was transferred to the Department of Health – Region 3 and It was nationalized on January 1985 directly under Region III through PD 811 and it was later renamed as Valenzuela District Hospital. In 1987, through EO 119, it was absorbed by the newly created DOH-NCR under District Health Office No. I. In 1992, through RA 7218, it was upgraded into a 100-bed secondary hospital and later renamed as Valenzuela General Hospital.
