This article is based on the guidelines of the Gratuity Pay for contract of service (COS) and job order (JO) government workers from Administrative Order No. 46 signed by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on December 29, 2021.
Who can receive the Gratuity Pay?
All workers in the following can receive the gratuity pay:
- National government agencies (NGAs),
- State universities and colleges (SUCs),
- Government-owned or controlled corporations (GOCCs), and
- Local water districts
Specifically, the workers who have rendered a total or aggregate of at least four months of service as of December 15 can avail the P5,000 gratuity pay.
Those who have rendered less than four months of service, meanwhile, may receive their gratuity pay on a pro-rata basis.
Pro-Rata Basis for Gratuity Pay
Length of Service | Amount of Gratuity Pay |
3 months or more but less than 4 months | Not exceeding Php 4,000 |
2 months or more but less than 3 months | Not exceeding Php 3,000 |
Less than 2 months | Not exceeding Php 2,000 |
