44 Cebu mayors have endorsed the BBM-Sara UniTeam as their official candidate in the forthcoming 2022 national elections.
The League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) hosted presidential contender Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and his campaign companion, vice presidential aspirant Sara “Inday” Duterte-Carpio, in Cebu on Friday for their regional planning conference.
“In behalf of all the 44 mayors of the province of Cebu, particular to the mayors of the 5th district, as well as my fellow mayors in the Visayas, for whom I am the national vice-president, we hereby express our unequivocal support to you, for your candidacy and we will do everything in our power to ensure an unequivocal victory in the coming elections,” LMP-Cebu Chapter President Mayor Christina Frasco said.
The LMP-Cebu mayors’ support comes a day after the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), Lakas-CMD, Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP), and Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino (PMP) formed a four-party grand alliance to support the BBM-Sara UniTeam.
Marcos thanked the mayors of Cebu for their support of him and Inday Sara.
“It’s a tremendous help, of course ang national candidate eh umaasa talaga ‘yan sa mga local government official ( a national candidate really depends on local government officials) from governors to mayors up to the barangay captains kaya ang endorsement like that ay very welcome. I welcome it very much, and I thank all of those mayors in region seven who gave me and Inday Sara their support,” Marcos said.
