Concreters mix, pour, spread, finish, reinforce and cut concrete for structures such as floors, stairs, bridges, buildings ramps and footpaths. Concreters work on construction sites, usually outside. They usually work normal business hours but can also work early mornings, evenings or weekends. Suits those who are hardworking, physically fit and able to work independently. An interest in building and engineering is useful. Job Description
- Designing and building forms. Setting up the forms. Pouring concrete. Using wire mesh to reinforce the concrete. Spreading and smoothing concrete.
- Molding expansion joints and edges. Using stains or colors to add the finishing touch. Adding small stones or other materials for decoration.
- Applying waterproofing and sealant to protect the concrete work. Monitoring the material to ensure it hardens to a durable finish.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 year(s) of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be at least a graduate of a four-year undergraduate course.
- High School and College Level must have no gap.
