The Department of Science and Technology (abbreviated as DOST; Filipino: Kagawaran ng Agham at Teknolohiya), is the executive department of the Philippine government responsible for the coordination of science and technology-related projects in the Philippines and to formulate policies and projects in the fields of science and technology in support of national development.

Interestingly, the Crops Research Division (CRD) of DOST-PCAARRD is looking for a Project Administrative Officer, Project Administrative Assistants, and Project Technical Specialists!

One (1) Project Administrative Assistant II / SG 11

Job Description

  • Prepares administrative and financial documents related to the Coconut Hybridization Program (CHP)
  • Prepares and monitors the budget utilization and procurement processes related to CHP
  • Assists in the processing and tracking of documents and activities related to CHP
  • Prepares highlights of meetings, annual financial reports, and accomplishment reports of M&E activities
  • Gathers data and information related to CHP that may be assigned
  • Assists in the preparation and conduct of seminars, meetings/workshops related to CHP R&D development

  • Prepares administrative and financial documents related to CHP

  • Assists in the conduct of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) activities – holds inception meetings, program/project reviews, conducts field visits, prepares budget allocation, facilitates fund releases, attends Agency in-house Reviews (AIHR), updates Palihan Information System, reviews financial reports, documents/disseminate technology/information and research results

  • Assists in the preparation of M&E plans for approved CHP R&D programs/projects
  • Assists in the review of packaged R&D program materials and assists in the presentation to approving bodies
  • Provides critical inputs in the review of proposals and provision of requirements
  • Reviews/supervises the preparation of Information Education and Communication (IEC) materials on coconut technologies and information
  • Participates in meetings, training, seminars, workshops, and conferences related to R&D resources
  • Attends to industry technology-related needs and promotion/dissemination of R&D results for the CHP
  • Participates in inter-agency/in-house committee and technical working group meetings related to CHP
  • Participates in activities related to establishing and maintaining S&T linkages with both local and international R&D institutions, and industry groups
  • Provides technical assistance/information to interested clientele

One (1) Project Senior Technical Specialist / SG 22

Job Description

  • Facilitates/supervises activities related to knowledge management and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of programs and projects under the Coconut Hybridization Program (CHP) in coordination with the ISP Manager for Coconut and under the overall supervision of the Crops Research Division OIC/Director
  • Coordinates with other DOST-PCAARRD Divisions involved in the implementation of the CHP
  • Reviews/finalizes packaged R&D program materials and assists in the presentation to approving bodies
  • Provides critical inputs in the review of proposals and provision of requirements
  • Reviews/supervises the preparation of Information Education and Communication (IEC) materials on coconut technologies and information
  • Gathers information materials vital in program development and modalities for resource generation
  • Attends/participates meetings, training, seminars, workshops, and conferences related to R&D resources
  • Attends to industry technology-related needs and promotion/dissemination of R&D results for the CHP
  • Participates in inter-agency/in-house committee and technical working group meetings related to CHP
  • Participates in activities related to establishing and maintaining S&T linkages with both local and international R&D institutions, and industry groups
  • Assists in the appraisal of the agency’s R&D programs and plans relevant to CHP
  • Provides technical assistance/information to interested clientele
  • Performs duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary
